Online Dating For You

Shattering Secrets You Can't Afford to Miss That Someone's Scamming You in Their Profile Successful online dating requires a variety of skills; the main being the ability to decipher an online profile. The skill of reading between the lines of a profile can mean the difference of spending an evening with a recently released resident of the state penal system, handing your personal contact info over to the cyber-stalker from Hell, or finding your one true soul mate.

Here are the big red flags in online dating personals:

1. Photograph. If the photograph was obviously taken at a high school graduation but the person's age is listed anywhere over the age of 25; this is a major warning sign which says "I think that I looked my best a long time ago." In some cases, a really long time ago.   Another thing to keep in mind is if a photograph looks like a male or female model, it probably is and it's probably not a photograph of the person, since models rarely need to look for dates online.   Other warning signs in personal photos include: a shot where the significant other has been obviously cropped out, any photos involving cans of beer or firearms, a personal album filled only with head shots, or the worse case scenario, no photograph at all.

2. Weight. There are two areas in which most people scam when it comes to filling out personal questionnaires: weight and income. You need to keep in mind that most people tend to low-ball the weight while high-balling on income. Any personal ad that has the weight described as "curvy," womanly," "plump," hefty," or "one big boy" is a sure sign that you will be spending your first date at an all-you-can-buffet and your compact Toyota is going to need an overhaul of the suspension system before the night is over.

3. Income. When the income level on a personal is either left blank or is listed as $150,000+, there is a good chance that your intended is employed at a mini mart or not at all. Unless you're into Big Gulps, nachos and hanging out in parking lots on Friday nights, this probably is a good time to take a pass.

4. "I enjoy long moonlit walks on the beach." Ladies, if you see this line in a man's personal ad, this man is a liar, pure and simple. No heterosexual male over the age of 6 actually enjoys walking hand in hand on the beach, not if there is a television set or sports bar within 20 miles. He may take a few walks on the beach with you in the beginning, but if the relationship goes long term, forget about it.   An absolute must-see for you!  Are you looking for stunning, kind and loving people to date?
